FAQ
Who is behind this organization?
AS16661, its parent organization, InfoSecEdu, and its partner organization, HackSite Network, are all made up entirely of volunteers. The team is international and consists of two administrators with a small group of developers, content moderators, and other supporters.
What kind of content do we host?
We host content focused on information and cyber security education.
Why do we need so much bandwidth?
Two main reasons:
- Streaming Content: Some of the content we serve includes high-quality lectures, seminars, courses, and other educational videos which consume a lot of traffic.
- Attack Bursts: Distributed Denial of Service and Botnet attacks are common and can waste a lot of bandwidth for short periods.
But also a third reason: why not?
How did we get our numbers?
Our IPv4 is a sequential 172.83.94.0, our ASN is 16661, our ARIN Org ID is HTL-69. How? Literally just luck. However it happened we are grateful to ARIN for how it pleases our OCD. :]
What is the logo?
![]()
Our Autonomous System Number is 16661, so the logo is just a ying-yang kind of symbol with three 6-like symbols inside.
